It’s easy to fall down a rabbit hole with social media if you don’t have a plan. I spend the majority of my day on social media acting on behalf of my various clients. It’s important that I have a strategy in place for both my clients and my business so that I’m not wasting time and money.

Below is my daily social media strategy, try it yourself and let me know how it goes. I use the stopwatch on my iPhone for the timer, but use whatever works best for you. Feel free to print this out and keep it on your desk as a daily guide.

How to Rock Social Media in Just 30 Minutes a Day

Daily Social Media Strategy

1.  Review How Your Content is Performing

See what your fans and followers are doing by checking what content they liked, shared or commented on.

If people are interacting with your content then this is a good sign as you are creating what they want. If no one is interacting try something different.

Keep an eye on the timer, it’s very easy to distracted reading other posts that aren’t relevant to your business.

2.  Schedule New Content

Schedule new content across all your networks. If in the last task you found that you had no engagement it’s time to switch things up to increase engagement.

Content ideas:

  • New product/service
  • Tips or tricks related to your niche
  • Customer testimonials or reviews
  • Industry related news

Tips:

3.  Engage

When people interact with you they expect you to respond back. Keep followers happy by replying to them or favoriting their comments. Thank people for sharing your content as well. A simple thank you can go a long way.

If someone has a complaint, address this first. Then move onto customer prospects and so on.

Follow back new followers that are genuine and in your target market. Don’t waste your time following people who will never buy from you.

The faster you respond to people, the better. Social media moves VERY fast. You may want to do this task twice a day and set your stopwatch for 5 minutes in the morning and 5 in the afternoon/evening.

4.  Watch

Look for mentions of your company name, blog or domain. If people are talking about you, you want to know. Not everyone will directly mention your social media handle or tag you in their posts. That’s why it’s important to use the search feature.

It’s also important to watch your competitors and their followers. What are your competitors doing? What are their customers saying? Are they happy? Upset? If they are complaining about a competitor you may be able to jump in and help them out and acquire a new customer.

5.  Find New Followers

Seek out new prospective customers to follow. Look at your competitors and see who is engaging with them and following them. Follow those people. Don’t just go follow anyone, you want to follow people in your niche, people who could potentially become a customer.

If you set just 30 minutes aside each day and implement my tips you will increase your reach on social media exponentially.
